Supporting individuals & couples across Ontario

In-Person, Walk & Talk, and
Virtual Therapy

I’m Emily Muizelaar (she/her), a registered social worker who specializes in supporting individuals, couples, and parents through the uncertainty of reproductive and parenthood journeys. If you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed from your past or present experiences, I can help support you.

My professional training and personal experiences inform this work of journeying with people who are interested in overcoming trauma, honouring loss, and finding healing.

Welcome,

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a rust-colored shirt, smiling and leaning against a stone wall outdoors with grass and trees in the background.

Additionally, I specialize in supporting parents and families of neurodivergent children - as well as adults who may be impacted by it themselves.

The Juniper berry thrives where other plants
can not. It symbolizes resilience, healing, and renewal. Let’s move towards these experiences together.

About me.

I’m an eclectic practitioner, and I pull from various approaches including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. I am also trained in several specific interventions for trauma & PTSD including Brainspotting, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature with my daughters, partner, and goldendoodle. I love baking anything sweet, cycling, and try to read a book when time allows.

My Services

In Person

Meeting in person allows us to share the same room, slow down, and connect without distractions—creating a comfortable space for reflection and growth.

(Locke St., Hamilton)

Walk and Talk

Being outdoors can help people feel more relaxed, grounded, and open - some may find it easier to open up or focus while moving rather than sitting face-to-face.

(Chedoke Radial Trail)

Virtual

Virtual therapy allows us to connect face-to-face from wherever you feel most comfortable. It’s convenient, flexible, and private, and it makes getting support easier when life and scheduling is busy.
